Jamie, you had an unique view of Hong Kong! Your photographs recalled my own trip to Hong Kong in 2006. Hong Kong is small compared to many other Chinese cities, it has a huge contrast of rich and poor. I enjoyed my time there, although expensive, either on Victoria Peak, or taking a ferry to appreciate the Victoria Harbour in the evening.

Thanks Wendy for adding a little more clarity to the Sunday Ladies!! It all makes a little more sense now, and I just loved how excited all of the ladies were. If I lived in Hong Kong, hanging out on the streets on Sunday would be my activity of choice as well.

I've been reading your blog for a little while, and wanted to comment on the "Sunday Ladies."

Hong Kong is full of domestic helpers, most of them from the Philippines and all of them women (I think). Sunday is the one day they get off from their duties. So many of them gather, mostly around Central and Admiralty, and just hang out with one another.
