I'm so envious -- I really want to visit Jingdezhen one day! I took a saturday morning pottery class in college once and staring into the spinning wheel nearly hypnotized me to sleep, but I loved the gooey feeling of wet clay in my fingers! I honestly don't know exactly what is in the clay body I've been using, but I think it's a mix of porcelain and stoneware. We're doing cone 6 firing (i think) which isn't as hot as the firings they do for straight porcelain....does that sound right???? It's hard for me to ask all of these questions because my teachers don't speak very good English! Hey Lisa!
