I replied to Madlen via email, but thought I would reply on here as well. Nik and I went to Leh in September of 2008 just after they closed the roads into the city. This meant that many of the shops and restaurants had just closed their doors for the winter, or were preparing to within a week or two. For us, it was the perfect time because it wasn't crowded.

I hope to travel like you someday, . . . you might know already. . .but some people don't even know of these different places in our world that you may find at lease somewhat recognizable on a map maybe?. . . there's so much beauty that I seen through your photographs, the people, the land. . . all so serene, humble, and foreign , compared to this industrial business entertainment show we got going here in America. . . It's nice to know these places exists. Well, good luck on your journey Jamie! Hope to experience traveling as soon as possible:]

Came across the posts / write-ups on Leh on http://www.nikdaum.com and then reached http://www.jamiesinz.com after that. I've really liked what I've seen so far and will continue to explore your websites. I think you both are doing a great job of sharing your world experiences with the rest of us. Keep up the good work.
